TESA/TB
TESA/TB
Testicular Sperm Aspiration (TESA) occurs when a fine needle is inserted into the testis and samples of tissue containing sperm are obtained by gentle suction.
If insufficient sperm are obtained using this technique, then a testicular biopsy(TB) may be done through a small incision through the scrotum. This is the best course of action to retrieve sperms in some cases.
Who Needs TESA/TB?
Men who have Azoospermia.
Procedure
It is a day care procedure, so you'll be able to go home on the same day as your operation. Usually, no anesthesia is required, and you can resume your normal activities from the next day.
Routinely, TESA/TB is done before the IVF cycle, and the suitable sperm are frozen till the IVF cycle.
