FET

FET-Frozen Embryo Transfers involve the use of thawed embryos that were frozen in a previous in vitro fertilization (IVF) cycle. Frozen embryos can remain frozen for as many year as you want.

What Are The Benefits Of A Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET)

It gives us an opportunity to prepare the endometrium in a controlled manner thereby increases the chance of achieving a pregnancy.

What are the success rates for Fets?

After consultation with the doctor, routine infection screening is done. An appointment is given for sperm The success rates depends upon many factors but generally the success rate of an FET is about 10% more than the fresh embryo transfer.

Procedure OF FET?

Most patients will be on a cycle/month of oral contraceptives (birth control pills) before their actual frozen cycle. She will be started on injection prior to her periods. Estrogens will be started following her periods.Endometrial response is assessed by scanning and when the endometrium is ready the frozen embryos are transferred.

frozen embryos may be transferred during a woman's natural cycle or in a controlled cycle. We prefer the controlled cycle as the timing of the embryo transfer is well coordinated. hormone medications are given to prepare the uterus for transfer. We will monitor the cycle using ultrasound to measure endometrial thickness. when the endometrial thickness is ready we start progesterone injections. The embryo transfer will occur 3-5 days after progesterone. On the day of the embryo transfer, the frozen embryo is thawed at room temperature , the embryos are then placed inside the uterus using a a special catheter .
